Virtual Joint Chapter Meeting Held November 12th

The Penn State Student ISEE and SME Chapters hosted a joint ZOOM meeting with the Eastern PA Chapter and the Mid Atlantic Chapter on November 12, 2020.  In attendance were 14 students, 3 faculty, and 11 Chapter members.  The meeting was run by Student Chapter President, Michael Campion.

After some brief student announcements, Dave Harrison, Co-Owner/CEO of Terra-Mechanics, Inc. presented, “A Case Study – Charleroi Lock & Dam – Old River Wall Explosive Demolition Phase 2″. His presentation was followed by Joey Accardo, Technical Manager Surface Drilling Equipment at EPIROC USA presenting, “Applied Technological Advances in Drilling”. These presentations were recorded to share with students not able to attend. After a question and answer period, everyone in attendance was asked to introduce themselves.

Danny Ray Leach of the Eastern PA Chapter made a few announcements promoting the Chapter’s support for 2 students to attend the ISEE Webinar series this year. He also announced that the PA Drilling and Blasting Conference planning committee is meeting to discuss the November 18 & 19, 2021 conference.

Professor Mohammad Rezaee expressed thanks for the support of the Chapters and looks forward to planning another joint meeting in the spring. The student Chapter is always looking for guest speakers for their meetings and available internship opportunities.
