The Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter recently made a $20,000 contribution to the SEE Education Foundation. The SEE Education Foundation provides scholarship funding to students pursing degrees and programs relating to the explosives industry. The Scholarship Funds have been established by families, individuals, industry supporters, ISEE chapters along with the Explosives Distributors Association and through gifts from authors’ book royalties.

Under the SEE Education Foundation are a number of endowments, one of which is the Dale Ramsey Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund has been established to commemorate the drive and passion Dale Ramsey showed for the Society and for students pursuing degrees in the industry. This fund specifically is awarded to a Pennsylvania student in the drilling and blasting industry.

Dale Ramsey passed away April 15, 2016, leaving behind a tremendous legacy in the industry and in explosives and engineering education. He helped establish ISEE chapters, regional training conferences, served as an ISEE President and, for more than 40 years, was General Manager of Senex Explosives, Inc.
